This describes what Liftr collects and where it goes. It reflects how the app actually works — if we change what we collect, we change this page.
What stays on your device
- Progress photos. Written to your device's storage and never uploaded. Deleting the app deletes them.
- Your routines, workout history and weekly schedule. Stored locally on the device.
- Apple Health data. If you allow it, Liftr reads your height, weight, sex and date of birth to set up your plan, and can write height and weight back. This is read on the device and is not sent to us.
What we store
- Your account. If you sign in with Apple, Google or email, we store the account identifier and email address our authentication provider gives us, so your data is still there on a new device.
- Your scanned gym. The list of items found in your room — names and categories, plus the cut-out item images — is stored against your account so it's available across devices.
The room scan
When you scan a room, the photo you take is sent to Google's Gemini API to identify objects you can train with, and the result comes back as a list of items. The photo is used for that request and is not kept by us as a photo library. The same applies when Liftr works out how to adapt an exercise to the items you own.
Subscriptions
Purchases are handled by Apple and processed through RevenueCat, which tells us whether your subscription is active. We never see or store your card details — Apple does not share them with us.
Who we share it with
Only the services needed to run the app: Supabase (database and authentication), Google Gemini (the room scan), Apple and RevenueCat (subscriptions). We do not sell your data, and there is no advertising or third-party analytics SDK in Liftr.
Your choices
- Delete your data from inside the app — Settings has a delete option that clears your routines, history and scanned gym.
- Revoke camera or Apple Health access at any time in iOS Settings. The app keeps working; the scan and the pre-filled plan simply won't be available.
- Email us and we'll delete your account and everything attached to it.
Children
Liftr isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their data.
